What is an Aluminum Heat Treatment Oven?

An aluminum heat treatment oven is a specially designed industrial oven system used in heat treatment processes applied to improve the mechanical properties of aluminum materials. These ovens are commonly used in aging processes performed after aluminum extrusion.

During the heat treatment process, aluminum is held at specific temperatures for a certain period of time. At the end of this process, the hardness, durability, and mechanical strength of the material increase significantly.

T5 and T6 Heat Treatment Processes

The most commonly used temper types in the aluminum industry are T5 and T6.

T5 Heat Treatment:
After extrusion, the aluminum profile is cooled and then placed in an aging oven at a controlled temperature to improve its mechanical strength.

T6 Heat Treatment:
After the solution heat treatment process, quenching is performed followed by artificial aging. This method provides significantly higher strength and durability.

Temperature uniformity is extremely important during these processes. Temperature variations inside the oven can directly affect the quality and mechanical properties of the material.

How Aluminum Heat Treatment Ovens Work

After aluminum components are placed inside the oven, the system gradually reaches the predetermined temperature under controlled conditions. Thanks to advanced air circulation systems, heat is distributed evenly throughout the oven chamber.

Once the heat treatment cycle is completed, the material enters the cooling stage. At the end of this process, the mechanical properties of the aluminum are significantly improved.
